Bike news: new Bird Zero TR

Excellent local bike company Bird Cycleworks have announced a new version of their Zero hardtail – the Zero TR.

An evolution of the original Zero, all the changes have been in response to customer feedback. The front end is longer, along the lines of the Aeris full sus, and the bottom bracket is lower for greater downhill stability.

The new frame has been designed around a 130mm travel front fork and has lost 200g compared to the original Zero. The seatstays have also been slimmed to add more compliance to the rear end and the chain stays lengthened for better climbing. The ISCG chain guide mounts and direct mount for the front mech have been omitted as well.

There is a new colour – the great looking Matt Grey – along side the existing Metallic Blue the current Zero comes in.

The new frame looks excellent and Bird have been hinting at another new release to be announced soon.
