A last minute quick session at FoD tomorrow. Intention is to ride a bunch of the trails from the Mini Enduro a couple of weeks ago. These are just over from the better known DH runs, with a very natural feel and some really steep stuff 😀
It will be very relaxed and I will pick the runs to suit the group
Meet outside Pedalabikeaway at 10.30am
I’ve found time to squeeze in another weekend Scenic ride in January, going in a different direction along the Ridgeway.
The start is at the bottom of the Barbury steep side (see map posting) setting off along the Ridgeway away from Barbury to Broad Hinton. From there we amble along the valley and a potential pub stop. Then the climb back up to the Ridgeway and the White Horse trail to Rockley. Then it’s back along the valley and up onto the ridge back to the start.
The ride will be 27km in length with 350m of climbing and some beautiful scenery.
Please see map for the start point, although you can also park at Barbury and cycle down to there if you want.
You must wear a helmet and dressed according to the conditions – it’s pretty cold out there still!
Thursday’s ride will start from the Jovial Monk Pub on St Andrews Ridge and led by John Jefferies.
Planned ride is weather dependant. There may be a more urban ride if it’s too wet and cold. We will leave @ 7pm and head out through blunsdon, stratton & Stanton woods to south marston ind est. from there through a nice little single track to south marston. A bit of road to Nightingale woods for a lap or 2 then back to the Jovial refreshments. It may be cold and wet, so dress appropriately.
A helmet, lights and a serviceable bike required.
Nice steady pace to suit those in attendance – nobody will be left behind.
We will meet in the Croft car park as usual and begin with a lap of the Croft trail (which can be skipped if you prefer), before heading off to Wroughton through Wichelstowe. This is a nice gentle flat route, to spin our legs and warm up a bit. Our destination is the pump track in Wroughton, although riding it is optional. We will then return to Croft via the bridleway.
With a lap of Croft you’re looking at about 10km of flat ride – a perfect winter warm up 🙂
Meet in Croft Car Park for 5.45pm.
You will need a helmet, lights and appropriate clothing for the weather.
A huge gathering at lunch will set us up for an afternoon of yet more trail fun!
Please note….. Helmets are compulsory at BikePark Wales and Full face helmets are advisable.
