Places to ride: Croft Trail, Swindon

Croft Trail is loop of waymarked woodland trail in Swindon, with 2 mile a Blue and more technical 3 mile Red routes, located opposite the Nationwide headquarters off Pipers Way.

There is a free car park on site and it is only a mile from the train station as well.

The trail is on council land and has been built and maintained by the members of MBSwindon club, who have done a brilliant job constructing a varied and exciting playground on what is actually a very small plot of land.

There is plenty to test your skills, as well as your bike actually, with all the obstacles being well thought out. While the site may lack in elevation, the trail wrings the most out of what is there and its a thoroughly enjoyable ride.

The video below shows most of the features on the trail – and will help with some names when people try to describe “you know that bit…”
